If other browsers like FireFox, WaterFox and Safari are working fine, then the issue with Chrome is probably due to your settings within Chrome.
Solution:
(1) Sign into Chrome, and select [Settings] in the Chrome menu.
(2) Scroll all the way down, and select [Show advanced settings].
(3) Scroll down to System, and DE-Select [Use hardware acceleration when available].
(4) Restart Chrome.
This should solve the problem, and Chrome should work fine. However keep in mind that Google will stop updating Chrome for late models using 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8, so it will be a good idea to start the switch over to another browser, or update your system for OSX 10.9 and beyond.
